There was interesting post by one of our users, just 2 days back, on our Windows Support Forums. Unfortunately his post got deleted due to some forum changes. This was answered by another of our members tweakwindows. Since it looked like a simple but interesting issue, I am mentioning it here. Thanks to Google cache I was able to retrieve it.

Fix: Windows Taskbar buttons start appearing from right side

His query was :

Q) When you open up a program, its tab appears on the left-hand side of the taskbar in rectangular form, right ?

But I just now noticed that, the tabs have moved over to the right-hand side, next to the notification area, and they start from there first. Also after I open 2 or more programs, I have to scroll through the programs tabs, on the taskbar, as they are ALL grouped together.

How to get back the default settings ? How to get these tabs to move back again to the left hand side of the taskbar?

A) What must have probably happened is that your taskbar must have got unlocked AND the vertical dotted divider moved to the right hand side of the taskbar, and maybe the taskbar got locked again.

What you need to do is unlock the taskbar and move your mouse pointer to the now visible vertical dotted divider and pull it back to the left side and lock the taskbar.

You will now see your taskbar buttons behaving normally.
