How To Add Any Program Shortcut in the Internet Explorer Toolbar ... easily !

Many a times you may want ready and easy access to some of your oft used applications like your chat client or a rough pad, while browsing.
Here is a simple way whereby you can easily add, edit and delete additional toolbar buttons and menu items in Internet Explorer.

Simply download and use the CustomizeIE utility.

The CustomizeIE is a standalone executable, and it doesn't require any installation process or additional DLLs. Just run the executable, (ctie.exe), and start using it.
You may have to search for and give it an appropriate icon. To get best results, each icon should contain 2 types of images:
1. 16 X 16 pixels with 16 colors.
2. 20 X 20 pixels with 256 colors
I simply used single 20x20 and 32x32 pixel .ico files to get rather satisfactory results.
I have added the Windows Live Messenger, Pidgin, and a Notepad button to the IE toolbar. You may have to search for and download .ico icon files to use. For instance you may download the WLM icon msn.ico or several other icons from here.
In case you don't see the icons, uncheck Lock the Toolbars. Next Customize Toolbar > Add Remove Commands. Here see in Available toolbar buttons and Add it to Current toolbar buttons. Click Close. Check Lock the Toolbars.
It works on IE 7 in Vista ! And do read its Read Me file for detailed instructions.
