Hack Windows Registry To Allow Messenger Polygamy

If you have several Windows Live ID's and want to sign into Messenger with more than one of them, you can always patch your Messenger with A-Patch or install Messenger Plus! Live.

Alternatively you also edit your registry as suggested at LiveSide to allow Messenger polygamy ie. allow multiple instances of Messenger to run at the same time signed into different id's.

Start Regedit as Admin.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Live

Right click Messenger and create a new DWORD called MultipleInstances

Right click the newly added registry key and choose Modify

Set the Value data to 1

Close Regedit.

Now you will be able to launch Windows Live Messenger as many times as you want, and sign in with as many WLIDs you want, on one computer.
